The primary focus of the Applications Systems Administrator is the application support, planning and maintenance of core line of business applications, including, but not limited to: Business process automation/delivery applications, API Healthcare, SQL Server Environments, and Office 365 Power Platform and other technical projects as assigned.
This role will serve as the technical point-of-contact between IT and Clinical Stakeholders. They will assist subject matter experts with performing system administration tasks associated with our enterprise applications. This includes maintenance of web application servers and corresponding SQL databases, patches, testing, providing technical guidance on minor upgrades, assisting in project coordination and Tier 2 application support.
The duties of this role include:
Plan, coordinate and oversee activities related to enterprise application information systems
Manage and maintain web application servers and corresponding SQL databases
Provide technical guidance on major upgrades to enterprise applications
Assist team in project coordination of technology team (Support Analysts and Infrastructure Administrators)
Understand the functional and technical aspects of the application (web application, integration services like Biztalk or Mirth) through documentation, network topology, data flow diagrams, data contracts, etc.
Provide Tier 2 application support, identify remediation actions and manage the implementation of improvements
Make recommendations of processes and technologies that will improve efficiency and effectiveness to the team
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
College Diploma in Computer Science/Computer Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Microsoft Certifications considered an asset
LEAN Six Sigma Certification considered an asset
Project Management certification considered an asset
Good technical experience of common database technologies, such as SQL Databases and Servers
Understanding of access management, administration, and application support
Understanding of IT infrastructure, including performing backups, upgrading and patching, performance tuning, monitoring, alerting, deployments, and disaster recovery.
Good working knowledge of these technologies: Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Visio
Knowledge of HL7 Medical Protocol using Biztalk, Mirth or other interface engines
Knowledge of Business process automation and delivery applications such as Planet Press, NetDelivery, Active Fax, Boston Workstation, Power Automate, Power Apps considered an asset
